I think that they are better equip to help someone who is more sedentary. I think it would be a better fit for someone who has mild to no behavioral problems. It just did not fit our loved ones needs.

Our loved one was only at Alder Leaf community for a couple months. During that time there was only a manger and a care giver there. Overall the care services were good and the manager was just excellent.

The biggest complaint that I have with this community is that once he started going downhill they gave him a lot of morphine and I had my loved one go to the hospital. I also paid them for a the services and my loved one was only there for a few days and said I was not getting anything back. The caregivers were really good besides one but once he started changing the services changed also. The biggest thing for me is that they did not give me the money back and I think they should have.

The staff is not trained to perform memory care related care or perform at the level of they claim to provide. If your loved one has normal memory related issues, they will ship them off to the hospital and lie about issues that caused them to determine why this is needed. When pressed for info as their claims don’t add up, they backtrack and the truth comes out. The turnover rate is pretty high at this sham of a facility, they claim the resident passes away which is why they have vacancies, later you find out the former resident is alive and moved to a suitable home instead. The staff claims residents break furnishings, only to discover that never actually occurred. The only shinning light is the night nurse, she seems to care for her charges and be equipped to do her job, the rest of the staff including the manager and owner are garbage. Bottom line, this is a terrible place to send your loved one to and you should find somewhere else that is equipped to provide care.
