Avalon House on Gerard Court

[name removed] was my father’s caregiver for three years. Her consistent and thoughtful care improved the last years of my father’s life. She has a pleasant demeanor, remembers names and converses well with others. My father was at various facilities during his last years. [name removed] and the Avalon house team are the only caregiver that got to know him personally. I highly recommend this facility.

The staff at Avelon House are what makes the home work. They not only tend to all the day to day tasks for the residents, they truly care about them. In the case of my father, [name removed] in particular, does an amazing job. She has made the effort to get to know him and understand him. As a result he feels very cared for and is a happier resident for it. Thank you [name removed] and Avelon, for taking such great care of him!

My husband has been at Avalon House on Oakview Drive since [date removed]. The staff is very caring and attentive to my husband, and always welcoming when my daughter and I visit. I can tell that the staff cares about him, and that my husband is happy there. He has a bright, sunny room that looks out onto the front yard. When the weather is nice the staff will bring him out for walk around the neighbor and when we visit him on a warm day the staff is always willing to bring him outside we can sit together on the porch for our visit.

The experience I had at Avalon and the care of my dear mother by the caregiver [name removed], was truly a blessing!! If I could give [name removed] ten stars I would. My mother suffered from dementia and after a debilitating stroke became such a tremendous challenge to take care of. [name removed] handled my mother with compassion, dignity and love which truly warmed my heart and put my family and our friends at ease. [name removed] could bring a smile to my mother's face which helped ease our pain during her darkest days which was truly remarkable. [name removed] became like a sister to me and treated my mother as family. Kudos and gratitude to Avalon for having such a wonderful caregiver!! I can't thank them enough for the care my mother received and particularly, for Angel [name removed]!

We cared for my mother in law for several years but her Alzheimer's progressed and she could not stay at home by herself for even a short time .She was always an introvert and would become anxious with people she didn't know . Avalon in McLean has been such a blessing for her and our family . From the beginning [name removed] was kind and helpful and assisted us to complete the paperwork and tour Avalon house to see if it was the right place for [name removed]. [name removed]cares for her with great compassion and encourages her to do as much as she can do to remain ambulatory. [name removed] also communicates with me for any concerns or changes in my mother in laws condition and is very flexible is when we visit . I feel very comfortable that [name removed] is at Avalon house, and my mother in law refers to it as her home . I have recently changed [name removed]PCP to a wonderful NP [name removed], who goes directly to Avalon to provide assessment ,treatment and medical advice for [name removed]. This is invaluable for us.

My husband was treated with compassion and respect while a patient at Avalon. I was encouraged to visit him and always made to feel welcome by the staff at any time I chose to visit. A high degree of professional care was always present and each patient was cared for with respect and dignity. When an outside expert was needed, the staff was quick to access the needed help.

My mom has been at this Avalon house ( 1505 Woodacre, McLean, VA ) for about 2 years. I love this place because they are friendly and helpful especially [name removed]. She communicates with us whenever needed on a very timely manner. The place is also very impressively clean. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Avalon house and the thank you to the staff here especially [name removed]

My mom is 91 with dementia and with anxiety. She came to Avalon house about a year ago. The Avalon staff are wonderful! They take very good care of our mom. Even her anxiety seems to have decreased here. The professionalism in the level of care that she receives is outstanding.

Our brother-in-law is a resident of the home on Woodacre Drive. We visit him twice a week and have been very pleased with the condition of the home and the care he is being given. The staff is very good - the supervisor is excellent. We appreciate the care he is being given. He is a fine gentleman and is treated as such.

The administration team is amazing and caring. Our go to person who takes care of my Dad is sweet, communicative, and has become apart of our family. Avalon is a place that we had to wait on the wait-list for. But the care my Dad has received there has been amazing and it was worth the wait. I feel lucky to have met all the people I have that work there and that they care so much for him. Three people who I need to recognize due to how amazing they are: [name removed], [name removed]and [name removed]. These three ladies have made sure my Dad is well taken care of and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

This Avalon house takes wonderful care of my father in law. Staff are very attentive and kind. They know what he needs and provide everything. They are very communicative and let us know how he is doing. They are always happy to see us when we visit.

The staff at the Avalon House are amazingly kind and patient with all of the residents and always provide a loving environment for them all. They communicate with family regularly and I have never once doubted that we made the right choice.

It's hard to believe it's coming up on four years since we had to find a place for mom, who suffers from dementia, but each and every day I feel fortunate that she's getting excellent care from the fine folks at Avalon House. I don't know how they manage, but they've kept her healthy and smiling all this time, even through Covid! She's got her own room, which was a must, that we decorated to make it feel like home and it's close enough that at least one of us can visit often. It's also a big plus that the staff knows her, and she knows them. I'm sure they're all good, but we're grateful to have found the house on Gelston Circle.

I couldn't say enough how much our family appreciates the care our mother receives at the Avalon House on High Street in Falls Church. My mother truly loves [name removed] and [name removed], her care givers at Avalon, and it's evident to our entire family. I just can't put into words how much peace this gives our family. I have been to this Avalon house on Wood Acre Drive, the house is always nice and clean and in order the residents are well groomed and clean, residents meals are well prepared and they make sure that they snack in between the manager for the house always pleasant and no matter what she got a smile on her face I know for sure that this particular house is very welcoming and staff there works very hard to keep the house well maintained, great home for a family who is looking some where for their mom or dad or other family members!

We have been lucky to find the Avalon house for my mom’s memory care she gets great attention from the staff. It’s seems that the dietary needs are being met because she had a weight problem before she was admitted, It’s getting better now. I would like to see her do more activity or creative activity . Over all we are happy that [name removed] is a resident

Our friend who resides there has done remarkably well under your care. We have interacted with her by video, and she always seems cheerful under her care. She has done much better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually than expected since she started residing at your facility. Thank you!

my mom stayed at avalon 3 on wood acre drive, for five years and during her time there, she was given the love and affection that I could not offer her because of my situation. I just want to express my sincere gratitude to the staff for there hard work and dedication. I really appreciate all that they did for my mom.

I recently was able to visit my grandmother on her 94th birthday. It was so special to see her and that she looked really good even though she is not well. It was special to me to see her in such a good place one more time before I headed out to school in Missouri. The place was clean and like being at home.
