Avamere

They are owned by new management and have not had WiFi available since just before I moved in here. Staff has WiFi but not us residents. We do, however, get TV service. Got a new chef along with the owners. I had no problem with the food before or after the new Chef. People get along just fine here. The countryside is beautiful. Trips are arranged to local shopping, restaurants etc. All in all it's quite a nice place

The staff and access to the care given was very helpful. The cleanliness and atmosphere was very inviting. I felt very pleased that my mother was there and getting great care. The experience made moving my mother there a lot easier on the family as we all had to travel to visit her but became an adventure we looked forward to!

Most staff were extremely nice & helpful. They were patient and kind to my mom. There were just a couple that didn't take the time I thought was needed. My mom didn't regularly go to activities. But the facility has a nice calendar full of great activities. Food was fine. Dining room staff nice.

Just that we've been really happy with the facility

Restaurant style dining was important for us. We are able to eat with our dad. We are also impressed with the activities, our dad is always doing an activity most days.

When it comes to the friendliness the staff gets a 4-5, but the admin staff gets a 3. The staff gets a 2-3 depending on who and we can't speak to the activities. The frontline staff really got to know me and my Granny and knew what she liked and how to care for her best. They worked with me on challenges to overcome them. Also it's a very attractive facility.

Excellent newer independent living side on the right. This is only for independent side they are good size and situated well for light, the wifi in the back units is very weak.

The food isn't great and rarely what the menu says. Had some issues with billing but think we've got that straightened out. If we really had another choice would be looking elsewhere. Staff is nice but feel they are not trained well for the most part. Do not use the intercom to keep people informed of changes in schedule. Was no new resident orientation. Hoping new owners will look into these things.

I can’t say enough great things about[name removed], from the time we did our tour till we got my mother in Sage Memory Care, [name removed] is excellent in dealing with families and understanding your necessities of a loved one. My mom has only been there for 3 months and I feel like we are still navigating through some of her daily living routines and her medical needs.

Problem was the beginning of no house keeping, food was getting lesser and later. Salad bar was going away and not enough in it. Meals delayed, no activity assistance. But they had a lot of activities. They're bus works only take you to East side Dr appts and had to be on their time. Reconstruction made things difficult and understandable.. but staffing was quitting by the droves and were unhappy.. the place was bigger and more open and airy. Grounds were starting to look very shabby.

The staff treat my mom with compassion and respect. The building feels like someone's home, not sterile or clinical. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

They have had quite a turnover of personnel in the last several months. I don't think some of their training is up to par. However, overall, I can't complain too much. My mother is generally in a safe and clean environment. The staff is friendly and, although my mother no longer eats very well, it appears that there is enough nutrition provided during the three meals per day. I must admit, it's not a great variety of meals that they make, but it's enough where most people should be well fed. I visit my mother 2-3 days per week. Although the facility will do her laundry, I choose to do it myself, so I am aware that she always has clean clothes. Sadly, I'm told that I am one of the few people who routinely visits any of the residents. I have seen for myself that even on holidays such as Christmas and Mother's Day, there are very few people who seem to be visiting many other residents (most of whom are women).

Check to make sure your loved ones' laundry is getting done. They missed my Dad's often!

Staff are friendly and helpful. The facility allows for clients to have a much independence as they want. Very positive environment. With food -They could cook what they have on the menu. They make fancy names but the food is not even close. They need more of a variety of vegetables offered. They have been through several cooks during our stay and all have been poor. For activities; maybe they could have something for people who have more strong cognitive capabilities. I would recommend Avamere of Hermiston to others looking.

Highly recommend. I have personally had a wonderful experience. My Mom is thriving and happy. Which was my want for her. The care is great. Very clean and staffed appropriately. Our issues are addressed timely with the care team.

The reason we gave the overall experience a 4 is mostly due to the food is not always too good. My sister does like some of the staff members quite a bit, she doesn't like to socialize a lot, she likes her privacy. She really complains about the food mostly.

He doesn't like the food. They have lots of on site activities just not very many he likes. Also they have not had a bus to take residents on trips for close to a year. They advertise such but do not have. Their bus broke down and never got fixed. The facility is always clean. Never smells like an assisted living community. Short handed most of the time.

Always room for improvement. I am very pleased with the care my Mom is receiving and all the staff is extremely friendly and kind. She enjoys the food and the servers, they always call her by her name and remember she loves ice cream. My brother from Indiana was very impressed with the facility and better than what he has seen in the past. My Mom fell in her room [date removed] and fractured her pelvis, she was in the hospital and rehab for a month and also recovered from pneumonia, she has returned to Avamere and is under hospice care now and the staff is very good to her.

Mom died on [date removed] so I I haven't been part it the Ovation Sienna Hills community since then but here are my thoughts: They got new management personnel recently so I don't know how much my experience is relevant. But it was very friendly and clean when Mom was there. I would recommend them!

Overall experience is/was a great experience. They took time, answered my questions and seemed genuinely wanting to help. Cleanliness is excellent. From, front door, offices, dining and other rooms. And apartment in great shape and very very clean. We could move our stuff in right away and not have clean things first Everyone from receptionist to cleaning staff to waiters (and all residents) are extremely helpful, cooperative and very friendly. The quality of care seems to be above satisfaction. Two concerns. (1). No one ever checks/inquires about cares that we're to be done. Has your cleaning people been taking care on the day assigned? (2). I was told they would do linens but not towels or personal items. That's fine . Then someone told resident we can only do towels if they do your personal stuff too. Residents should be contacted at least once a month to make sure things are going ok or if they have any questions, concerns etc. Also we were asked when someone should check on them. But I really don't think anyone has checked on them , asked how they are etc. since they moved in. Dining room very cheerful, staff very helpful, friendly and meals are very good and prepared well. Menu is good and specials are well chosen I think and also tasty. Hours dining room is open I feel are great. Accommodates all ideal times for anyone. Waitors/waitresses are very pleasant and helpful. I feel really good about most of their activities. Seems something there for most everyone. I know they give a schedule for every week, days and times, but I also feel that the family and residents should discuss what may- be they want to get involved with to the staff and maybe give that resident a reminder that that certain activity is coming up. I know that's probably a lot to ask of so many residents but wish something could be implemented. I also know families of residents could help out in that area also. Of course I feel these prices are high but comparable to other facilities. But, too, I think things that were said would be done have not been completely fulfilled. Especially, the add on of certain fees for minor duties. Such as meds being given out and helping with bathing. This is supposed to be "assisted living" in the first place. (My average rating is #5. It's an excellent facility and am happy we chose Ovations for our parents. Would recommend it to anyone who would need such a facility.
