We really liked Palos Heights, this actually would have been our first choice. When they evaluated my loved one, they thought that he needed memory care and we just did not think he needed that type of care yet. Overall it looked like a great place.

We had a wonderful tour experience with Lombard Place. The facility was absolutely beautiful and the staff were so friendly. For our situation, we were looking for a dedicated memory care facility - we thought that was going to suit our loved ones needs better.

We spent at least 30 minutes with the Sales Director giving us information about the senior community. While doing so there were residents walking by and she knew each one of them by name. There was also an unplanned fire drill, more than two staff members approached us to give us fair warning that the drill was about to take place. Every area was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend taking a tour of this facility.

They have had staffing shortages. It is pretty expensive but everything is nice. It's a brand new facility, which is clean with a good reputation. Overall, the staff is attentive, it's a great location and the food is excellent.

The biggest issue I have is the billing and the care level they want to place my loved one at. I feel this is because of a new nurse in the memory care and they tried to raise the care level for my loved one without it being justified. Everything else we are happy with. Other than the billing the communication with the staff has been okay. The family can sign up to have their loved one seen by the community doctor rather than having their own doctor continue the care. It wasn't as quickly as I anticipated.

My father-in-law really likes his apartment and the people he now pals with. Only downside is the sometimes issue with the kitchen. There are times when there are not enough workers there, menu gets changed from sit down to pick up and eat in your room.

It is a great place to live. The staff is the best! The only concern mom has had is that they do not serve enough 'soft' foods in the dining room for supper--important since she has few teeth. Housekeeping has struggled at times because of the supply of people willing to work but we understand that.
