I looked for a good home for my mom when it came time that my sister and I felt she should not live in her home alone. United Methodist Communities At The Shores Ocean City, NJ 2201 Bay Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226 is an excellent facility providing my mom with independence as well as a safe and very pleasing lifestyle. My sister and I are extremely happy with UMC The Shores facility and staff. If we could rate ten stars we would.

My aunt thinks the food is really good. The residents are open and inviting. The staff are wonderful. They do offer daily activities and she enjoys participating in some of them. The community is beautiful. When you visit you feel like you are at a resort and I would recommend this community.

The absolute best place! They treat my 99 year old Dad like royalty. He has become noticeably rejuvenated in just the two weeks since he moved in. We feel very fortunate to have found The Shores.

When I first when to see Pitman Manor the staff was just so friendly and helpful. I have seen other places with big, stuffy furniture and this facility just feels like home. Mom really likes it there. The food is really good too!

I have to say the entire staff at Pitman Manor is the most friendly I have seen at any facility. The room is very nice, just enough room for mom. My mother really enjoys meal time, sitting with her new friends. My mom actually kicks me out if I am there close to meal time so she can get to her table. Pitman Manor is almost like an apartment complex - just added amenities and care.

From the very first visit with Pam, I felt that Pitman Manor was the place for my mom. When I took my mom to see the facility she liked it right away. Very home feeling. My mom moved in on July 25, 2015. Moving day was a bit rocky, but it all worked out and the staff was outstanding! My mom had a tough couple of days, but with the reassurance from Pam my mom is very comfortable in her new home. I find the staff very friendly, I always get a greeting from anyone I pass.

We've had a great experience at Pitman Manor overall, I'd give them top marks across the board! It's a nice looking, clean community, and the staff have all been very friendly and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place turned out to be, and also surprised and how much Mom ended up enjoying it!

They were wonderful! They had fantastic physical therapy. They have an intersting way they work activities instead of the whole building having activities they would do them in groups, it was much more intimate. The rooms were set up well and the staff was good. The twelve people in each wing would eat together, so they could get to know each other. The staff was consistently the same people. They were doing fun things with the therapy as well, wii bowling and things. They made it more interesting. They do outpatient too. I didn't have any problems with them at all.

The staff and their overall friendliness just really stood out to us from the beginning, they have been great about everything and the residents have been wonderful to our loved one she has really felt welcomed. This community provides continuous care so we do not have to worry about moving our loved one to a different community. It was the best decision we could of made and we would absolutely recommend them to other families.

We chose United Methodist Communities because we liked that it was not just one room, she has a kitchenette and bedroom which makes it feel like a little apartment. They also had a step program in terms of if you go in as assisted living you are able to transition to memory care if needed. We really like the location is it in a cute town. The staff are so friendly and really love their residents. I would recommend to others looking.

My former fencing coach lives at CM. I have visited twice and have found the facility to be friendly, clean, modern, lots to do.. Gym, Chapel, Pool table, barbeque, parties, lots of people gathering around and talking. Great area.. Beautiful parks close by - Cooper River, Close to Philly and lots of highways - 70, 130.. Shopping Centers, Restaurants. Great that they have all different levels of care from Independent Living, to Memory care. I can compare with a few others I have seen in the past few years and would put this one at the top.

My 99 year old father is thriving! He is the happiest I've seen him in a long time. He played Bingo for the first time in his life, he goes to group exercise class 3 times a week, he loves the staff and they love him. Best thing his 4 kids ever did for him. He was a depression-era child and now he's living the life. That place is the best!

Nice setting. Clean & well maintained facility. Extremely caring staff at all levels. Many experienced, long-term staff who are happy to work at the facility. Extremely good communication. People actually care...not just lip service. Many went above what one would expect in many different scenarios. Housing and medical care for all levels of care is in this one facility so no need to keep relocating if health condition of resident changes...one can transfer to a different floor to get increased or decreased level of care up through long-term care or hospice. Nice residents and nice variety of activities geared toward the majority of the population. Many residents are those with mobility issues and w/5 floors, elevators are needed, but this was seldom an issue. Cost is a bit higher than other facilities with many services ala carte vs all inclusive, but it is manageable. Since cost of assisted living is high everywhere, I felt like the facility, staff and medical care warrants the slightly higher costs. I chose this facility as a rehab facility after my mom's hospital stay and a Medicare rep stated it was one of the higher rated rehab facilities on the Medicare list. After my mom's rehab, she moved to an assisted living floor for a short time and then, when my mom's health declined, she moved to long-term care until her passing. It was a very traumatic journey as my mom's health fluctuated, but the staff was there to support both my mom and me along the entire journey and worked with me on several issues after my mom's passing. This facility gave me peace of mind knowing my mom would be cared for and I would have the support I needed no matter what happened. With your help, I researched and visited several facilities so my mom might move closer to me, but UMC was always in the running due to the availability of medical care there. It is a fine, positive community that I highly recommend to those looking for care for their loved one. Hope this info is helpful.

This community was nice it was jut not the right fit for my loved ones needs. there was another community that just instantly clicked that we just knew was right for my loved one. the tour was great and they gave me all of the information that I needed. This was a really nice community but we were afraid it would be to big for my loved one and she would not get the needed attention.
Before we chose United Methodist, we toured several other communities. This one overall was very clean and they all seemed organized and friendly. At all levels, everyone at the community was very caring. There was a friendliness to the place that we liked and the staff genuinely seemed to care about my mother. The staff was always prompt and did what they were supposed to do. The meals were always good as well. We did have a couple of issues with the staff getting my mother her medication on time. It did seem like there were a lot of activities available and they clearly made an effort. We did think that the community was a good value even with the high price in consideration. The only negative was that we thought their business office was sub-par. We thought the billing was very weird and after my mother passed away, it was difficult to figure out final payments.

The food is very good and the community is very clean. The staff have made us feel comfortable with mom living here. The administration has been very helpful and informative. This is a vibrant community and they have a lot of volunteers coming in. They offer some daily activities and the staff have been encouraging mom to participate in some. I would recommend this community.

Everything is going very well for us with this home care agency. We have a lovely young lady that comes out to help my husband. She watches over him while I step out the house. He really enjoys her company. I'am very comfortable with leaving him and her care. Everything has worked out very well, and I'am pleased with all this home care agency has done for us.

i toured this community and we did not like the layout. there were a lot of different floors and levels, it all felt too complicated. this community felt more like a facility; it was very gloomy and dull. it didn't have that lively vibe, it did not feel like home.
There are things they did really well with and things that I was disappointed with as well. My loved one needed more help than she was receiving here. If someone if healthy and independent and interacting, it is a fantastic place. But she needed more care than she was asking for. The nursing staff was lovely and friendly but I was not getting the help that I needed. Once we moved in we did not really get any guidance, I always had to ask for things. The staff really are lovely people and were doing the best that they could. I would definitely recommend them to someone who is more healthy.
