The facility was very clean. They have a lot of activity options. [Name removed] answered all of my questions and gave me a tour of the facility. Everyone was friendly and happy.

My mother started her residency at Islandia East in [date removed]. It had taken about eight months before she stopped complaining about the food, hired help etc.. But now she refers to it as home and has made many friends. Suddenly the food is better and the hired help are wonderful! It is a great place, well maintained, clean and safe! I would recommend the Arbors to anyone!

Placing a loved one in assisted living is an extremely difficult decision. I toured Arbors West in Islandia, NY, a few years ago but my parents resisted and were not ready to move at that time. After my dad’s passing, I knew it was a necessity that my mom live in a safe friendly community where she would be well taken care of. I viewed the Arbors West again along with several other facilities. My instinct told me the Arbors was the correct choice. I observed a level of care there and felt it was something my mom would appreciate. My mom has been at the Arbors West a little over a year now and I feel secure and satisfied that she is safe and being well taken care of. The Arbors has daily activities, weekly trips and a full staff to entertain its residents. If you are trying to decide where to place a loved one, the Arbors West is the right choice.

After visiting several assisted living facilities I am so happy we choose my mother [name removed], to reside at The Arbors West. [Name removed] made the transition go very smoothly for us. Arbors meets my mother's needs in so many ways. She is well cared for, safe, clean and the food is terrific. She has been here for a year now and she tells me she can't imagine herself living anyplace else. It brings us great peace of mind that she is happy and content and is treated with kindness and respect. A special thanks to [name removed] who is right on top of things if I have a request or question. And to [name removed], the young woman who keeps my mother's room spotless. The staff has always been very accommodating to our needs and they keep things running effortlessly. I am grateful to each and everyone of them.

My mom has been a resident of Arbors West since [date removed]. At the time my mom was exhausted n heartbroken as my dad was put into a nursing home. From the time I spoke to [name removed] to the time we met, my mom n us, her family, are happy with the decision that mom would give it a try at Arbors West. From the front desk to the Wellness Center Staff, activities staff, dietary, everyone, has helped my mom at this time of transition in her life. When my Dad passed in January the staff once again were there to support her. She feels safe there, has friends, has become more active. The Arbors at Islandia East surpassed all of my mother's and my expectations. After visiting several Assistant Living Facilities, there was no question Islandia East was the perfect place. It is a very active community with an amazing staff. The staff is not only caring and attentive, but they constantly show how much they truly care and respect the residents. They treat every resident as their own family. Having my mother need full time assistance was difficult to accept, but after seeing how happy and how well she adjusted because of the wonderful staff and community, my fears were eliminated. My mother now tells me she is on a permanent vacation and loving it.

[date removed] When my father no longer felt comfortable living in his own home, he chose the Arbors after visiting every Assisted Living facility in our area. (Yes, all of them) He chose Arbors Hauppauge based on the facility, location, staff, price, all inclusive policy and very important to him was their Veterans Program. We were so fortunate that my father was a resident of the Arbors at Hauppauge for three years. It became a home away from home to my father and myself. I visited often and it was always a pleasant experience. My grandson was a regular visitor and loved visiting Grandpa [name removed] and his friends. Staff and residents were very friendly. I can not say enough about all aspects of our experience. Many days felt like a cruise ship on land- there was always a celebration going on for my father and they welcomed family members to join. During the three years, there were issues that needed to be addressed. They were handled appropriately, leaving every one feeling satisfied. As my father's needs increased and he required more care than an assisted facility, the staff was supportive and patient. Thank you to the Staff of Arbors Hauppauge!

Cannot say enough about the Arbors in Hauppauge. I was so nervous about having to have my Dad live there. From the moment we walked in that day last year until now, the people that work there are just unbelievably caring individuals. The quality of the care and concern are aces. The place is beautiful, the activities the best. I highly recommend it to anyone who is as nervous as I was who wants to ensure the very best for their parents.

Yesterday I toured westbury with my family. I was so impressed with this community. It was so warm and welcoming! We met with [name removed] she was so kind to our needs and answered all our questions She made us wanna move in lol. The time spent with us was so appreciated. As we walked around we spoke to residents all had such wonderful things to say. My family and I are so excited we found a home for our grandparents

The Arbors provided my husband with assistance as his health declined. He needed to have someone with him 24 hours a day. It gave me the ability to take care of my own health. My children thought the Arbors was more like a resort hotel. The Arbors provided many activities for the residents. Also,I could take part in the activities.

When my uncle turned 92 I was entrusted with the difficult task of helping him transition from an extremely active and independent lifestyle to assisted living. Out in the "world" he was very involved in politics, his church, and many community organizations, so this was not going to be an easy task. Was I ever wrong!!! The entire staff of the Arbors at Bohemia embraced him and made sure he was always 100% happy. Being retired military he thrived with their Veteran's group talks enabling him to reminisce about a very important time in his life. The many daily programs (current events, exercise, social hour, movie time, etc) enabled him to continue his life with the fullness to which he was accustomed. And if he just wanted to relax on certain days, well that was ok to! The staff would be attentive and "check-in" on him regularly to make sure they could do or get him whatever he would like. I could go on, but to sum up: the Arbors at Bohemia with regard to my uncle, would best be described by adjectives such as, clean, lively, caring, helpful, loving and dignified. The staff there knows how much we appreciate them and they all give 200% to the residents there. And by the way, the staff is extremely courteous and helpful to us and all our visitors. Would highly recommend the Arbors at Bohemia if you ever have to help an elder loved one transition to assisted living.

My mom is currently living at the arbors. This has been a great experience from day one when I walked in to tour the facility. The Director [Removed] is genuinely kind, understanding and helpful. She and her team have been Angels to me and my Mom. I am truthful in saying I don't know what I would have done without her help. I am an only child and have sole responsibility for my mother who has been sick for months. The short term rehab days were used up and I had no where to turn. [Removed] took control and made this a life changing experience. My mom is there now. She is finally happy and so am I. The care has not changed from intake to today several months later. The staff have treated her better than family.

Dear [Removed] and Staff at The Arbors of Bohemia, As our family started to search for a place for our Mom, luckily I came upon a site called " A Place for Mom". I must say that the person who assisted me gave me a few referrals and at that point our family started to make the hard decision that our mom could no longer stay alone. At that point we started to look for a place that would be suitable for her needs. When we went to the Arbors of Bohemia ,we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the place was. It is immaculate, decorated beatifically and just as important or should I say more importantly was the WARM welcome we received. The executive director,[Removed] and his assistant took the time to give us a tour and explain everything to my self and my family. The feeling from every staff member was just as warm and had a great spirit. It helped us decide at that moment we had found the right place for our mom. Thank You, The Casagrande Family

Amazing!!! I am so happy for my uncle that he lives in Islandia West. He is sooo happy to be part of the Arbors Community. Just the other day he said to me" I don't want to leave here, I love it here! The staff is so friendly and everyone treats you like family and I love the food!" The experience thus far has truly been positive. I am always welcomed with open arms when I visit my uncle. They take very good care of him and his needs. My questions are always answered and the staff is always very helpful. It's a great opportunity for my uncle to be with people, socialize and be in a safe setting. I'M OVER THE TOP WITH JOY FOR HIS HAPPINESS AT THE ARBORS.
