It was a difficult decision to put my mom in an assisted living but I feel very comfortable with my decision in choosing the Arbors in Bohemia. The staff is kind,caring and so supportive. [Name removed] helped me over a period of months to help with the adjustment in my mom living at the Arbors. [Name removed] continues to be supportive to both my mom and I. [Name removed] is literally a text or a phone call away if my mom or I need ANYTHING. The wellness directors [name removed] and [name removed] are extremely helpful in making my mom comfortable in her new home. The recreational director, [name removed] spends an endless amount of time preparing many activities for all the residents at the Arbors. [Name removed] makes sure that she finds each and every resident something that interests them. [Name removed] has gotten my mom to do things I never thought my mom would do as in, going on a beautiful trip to the wineries, doing crafts and participating in a school program which includes making crafts with children at various elementary schools. Everyone at the Arbors in Bohemia from the maintenance staff which includes [name removed] who is extremely helpful in assisting me with making my mom’s room cozy and comfortable, to the laundry staff, the wellness staff and the receptionists have been instrumental in making my mom feel at home. There are many questions in the beginning and I appreciate all of the guidance that everyone has provided me with. I am confident that they will continue to be caring and supportive and provide my mom with the care she needs.

My older brother brought me here 5 months ago. I was in a bad way both physically and psychologically. I did not want to be here. I changed my opinion after a month. Now I feel like I'm on vacation. The food is good. Half the selections are of gourmet quality. You have a wide selection. We need more roasted vegetables, but they are working on that. The staff is very professional. No matter what their job here, each member looks out for the residents, especially those who need extra attention. There is a happy atmosphere here. Many of the staff are lovable, all are tolerable. There are no bad actors in my experience. The age of the residents range from 60 to 99. There are wheelchairs, walkers and canes. Most of the residents were bought here by family members. The family can visit any time. They can take the residents out anytime. Overall, the Arbors West is a safe, healthy and happy place to place your loved family member.

My mother in law was an independent 96 year old when she had a stroke in July. While we were lucky the stroke was not incapacitating, we knew that independent living was no longer an option. We had to make the difficult decision to find an assisted living facility. The team at the Arbors was empathetic to our situation. As we toured the facility, we saw all the activities going on with residents along with the multiple areas where she could go if she wanted quiet or if she wanted to participate in these activities. The Arbors at Bohemia has a beautiful interior courtyard with a resident garden. She can participate in gardening comfortably in the raised gardening beds. This was a hobby she enjoyed for many years and will now enjoy again. Her room is very comfortable and we were able to decorate and place all the familiar things from her apartment. It is very comforting to know that she can still enjoy independence and not be burdened with the daily tasks. These tasks are taken care of quite capably with the Arbors Housekeeping, Wellness teams. The staff is friendly and they know all their residents. She has adjusted easily to this new chapter because of the Arbors team attention and support. We are very grateful to the Arbors team and know we made the right choice.

The Arbors in Islandia is the best choice for any loved one. Our mom has been here for 2 years and she is given the best care by an almost extended family of staff, outstanding choices of meals, activities and special monthly events, every inch of facility is clean all the time, just built new outdoor patio pavilion, with umbrella covered tables, afternoon socials every day, the most caring staff available, absolutely nothing negative to say. A great experience.

My Father has been living at the Arbors of Hauppauge for 2 years. He was very lonely living at home. this was the best decision to move him here. daily he and his new found friends play poker. ( I know not to visit during his poker games lol) I am so happy that they have services like laundry, meals, beautician. I feel like he is truly in great hands. The staff is so accommodating, they are so kind the personnel here is awesome. best place for us!

Hello, My loved one has been living at the Arbors of Hauppauge for 5 years. we are so happy!!!!!!!!,. it is the best decision we have made for mom. She is always busy with trips , entertainment ,hairdresser, friends. The staff is so wonderful. Mom tells us everyday just how good the staff is to her.Mom has made so many friends and the atmosphere is so warm and friendly. We would absolutely recommend this community.

The Arbors of Bohemia is everything we hoped it would be. The staff is great, the community rooms are bright and clean and they have tons of activities to keep everyone busy. The staff goes out of their was to make it feel like home.

Placing my very independent Mom into an Assisted Living was a very trying time - having broken her hip and no longer being able to climb the stairs. Hello, My friend [name removed] has been living at the Arbors of Hauppauge for the past 3 years. She is doing sooo well, she has friends, 3 meals a day housekeeping services. This place has turned her life around. her mood state is so much better. Barbara prior to moving in was a loner, isolated in her apartment. now she is surrounded by so many people she is also out her room in the lobby playing cards or listening to the entertainment. I am thankful for the staff for always keeping me informed about my friend i am all she has. the atmosphere is joyful and pleasant. I would recommend this community to anyone.

I have even met someone from my county, and we talk everyday. The staff is wonderful, food is great. I have so many activities to do. When i was home all i did watch tv. This is truly my home.

Hello- My mother in law has been at The Arbors of Westbury about 2.5 months now. We are very happy with The Arbors. Everyone who has visited her comments how much better she looks and how much more engaging she is. At 89 years old we weren't sure how much improvement we would see. But we did. We have had the best experience at the Arbors. Our mother was depressed and not interacting. Now she is involved playing bingo and trivia games. Her smile is back.

I had called A Place for Mom on several occasions. Each time I was able to speak with a kind, compassionate person who listened to my dilemma and was able to guide me toward alternatives suited to my loved ones needs and personal circumstances. Ultimately with their guidance a perfect place was found for my mother who could no longer live in a healthy safe manner in her own home without a moderate and respectful level of care. mom joined the Arbors Islandia East Family in March of 2019 her dementia progressed after she lost her husband of 62 years of marriage I visit her every 5 days or so every time I visit her she seems to be happy.. she has her bad days but for the most part she seems good all the workers at the arbors are great she seems to love all the works plus the workers are great with her also she loves the food and all the actives they have I also go to there support group which meets the first wenesday of every month it is a great place it took me long but I know I made the correct choice

My dearest friend chose the Arbors of Bohemia as his moms residence for her final senior years and it was the best decision he ever made for her. Somewhat resistant to leave her home if 50 plus years the staff at the Arbors made it the most pleasant transition for her. They kept her somewhat busy during the day which was exactly what she needed since she was very good at isolating! The staff in all areas from management to housekeeping are truly amazing which shows because the facility is both immaculate and cheery ! Actually inviting fir all to visit . I witnessed the most loving and caring people attending to all the residents needs on an everyday basis and It’s was always done with a positive attitude. The help is always smiling and pleasant to everyone. If anyone in my family or anyone of my friend family are ever looking for an assisted living facility for their loved ones this is definitely the place to go. The staff has been excellent in getting my father in law acclimated to his new surroundings. While this is a very trying time, everyone helps to get them adjusted. The room is spotless, and the meals are good!
