Experience with Oaks at Fayetteville

We did not have a good experience with Oaks at Fayetteville, I would not let a doctor put my loved one here again. We had some billing issues that I did not agree with.

Outside is beautiful but what’s on the inside is concerning

The staff was not friendly. The way it’s designed is not what I expected when I toured looking for my mother. Seems there is a lot of work to be done with staffing and everyone seemed uninterested in showing us around. I went during meal time and the presentation of the lunch looked like something you would see in a school cafeteria or in an institution. None of the rooms had closets and all the rooms were small . Even the “deluxe “ was very tiny. Only room for bedroom furniture . Wasn’t large enough to have a sitting area and bedroom area and the no closet was an immediate turn off. Their prices are extremely high compared to what’s included and room size verse what other assisted livings offer

If you need hands-on care avoid at all costs

The elderly are left in their own filth for hours. If you need hands-on care please avoid at all costs. They do not regularly change or bathe patients. Their excuse is we are short staffed. If you are able to care for yourself it's an ok facility. I mean if you can bathe, dress, toilet by yourself you should be fine.

I ended up walking out. Not impressed at all. Employees told me to wait and they would find [name removed] to help me. They were very loud and I could hear them saying they couldn’t find her. Not very professional. Not where I want my mom to be. Scratched off my list.

Terrible

My father stayed there and he was badly mistreated. The smell on him and his room was nauseating. I paid for his clothes to be washed after they said whenI washed them they Charged the same amount. Don't take your loved one there.

NO. Gorgeous rooms, walk-in closets. Single occupancy only. Bedrooms exit into hallway with sitting room not visible. only more hallways. Residents never taken off-site. No attendants visible. The Assisted Living section is recommendable but Memory Care Unit is terrible.

This community has breached...

This community has breached our contract multiple times and constantly are trying to charge for items that they say are mandated by AL regulations. When I check with the state, they deny that. Terrible place. You should not recommend. Putting our loved one there was terrible but to have to defend his rights and money every month and sometimes more frequently is heart breaking.

Run In The Other Direction

My loved one was there and ended up having bed bugs in their furniture. I found this out when trying to move my loved one out of the community. The community didn't send pictures of my loved one when asked for this. The management changed and the community didn't inform us of this change. The community wanted me to sit with my loved one 24 hours a day for 14 days due to them contracting COVID. They gave me another option to hire someone to do this.

Autumn Cove and the staff are to be avoided by all. Indecent

My father, a 2 time veteran with advanced dementia was horribly treated by the Autumn Cove staff. The administrator was rude to me when I tried to talk with her to make him be treated compassionately. All she was concerned with was how to pad his bill every month From $10 for small bottles of aspirin and Milk of Magnesia and other basic over the counter items. I told her to let me know what he needed and I would provide. She said I had to buy through them and continued to do so without my approval. She also charged me $35 extra a month to do his laundry daily per state requirement she said. There is no requirement from the state and his laundry was not being done daily. There was such a stench in his room. Finally, I found his bedding crinkly from waste that was allowed to stay from not washing. They didn't bathe him daily.

This place made a lot of promises to take care of my dad. I found him more than three times sitting in his dark room sitting in pee. Food was mostly fried, cheap food which made my dementia dad gassy. I spoke to the nurses and administrators and owner and they continued the above. I had to move him because they became so hateful. I asked to talk with his doctor but he was never available to me. Terrible place.
